Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with the agency’s Operations Teams and the local management. You will be responsible for the daily accounting of the Belgian entities as be involved in the group and business reporting. You will report to the Belgian CFO and work closely with the GL accountants and the controllers.



Teamwork is your credo, meeting deadlines your challenge! You will support the Antwerp and Brussels teams by being responsible for the statutory and group accounting.


General Accounting

  • Review/Analysis monthly results with FM and finance team
  • Management of P&L and balance sheet including review of month end accounts, accruals and prepayments, approval of accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices, managing the Purchase Order system
  • Preparation month end and quarterly reporting
  • Review and coordinate all internal management reporting
  • Manage the company cash flow reporting to WPP Treasury
  • Monthly intercompany reconciliation & follow-up

Financial Reporting

  • Assist the CFO on reforecasting, budgets and ad hoc duties
  • Oversee the preparation of the Statutory Accounts
  • Preparation statutory audit
  • Liaise and manage the Internal audit process and SOX reporting requirements

Financial Controls

  • Approval client related Purchase Orders
  • Check fixed assets listing
  • Preparation month end close binder
  • Ensure that daily processes and controls are compliant with SOX
  • Review principal financial reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • contact for the relationship with the finance system provider
  • Ability to step in and complete all key roles in the absence of other key finance members.



  • Master degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of which preferably 2 years in an international environment;
  • Proficient at a high level in Excel
  • Hands-on direct approach, pro-active personality
  • Current on all classic management accounting practices
  • Agency experience would be helpful
  • Understanding of SOX compliance
  • Able to get on with other different personalities on a day to day basis
  • Fluent in Dutch, English and French
